I hope this isn't considered spam. This is the only site on which I posted this.

I ran into an old friend two days ago... Duane Evarts. Duane has been an audio/video producer since we were kids. My first opportunity to record with multi-channel equipment came with his offer to let me work for three days in his 8 track studio that occupied about half of his mom and dad's house. He was very generous with his time. That was over 30 years ago. Since then Duane has worked at several brand name corporations as a producer. I vouch for his professionalism and integrity. He knows his stuff.

I found out two days ago Duane is starting a guitar and luthier magazine. This project is in the nascent stages with the first publication due in January. I had a nice conversation with him yesterday. I'm providing the link in case anyone is interest in looking into this.

This link explains some about his plan:

Duane's phone # is printed inside the concept issue on page 4.

There are a few known luthiers involved but as of now the list is pretty short. Duane promises to publish in January with his own money and whatever advertising commitments he gets from these involved luthiers. He'll print 3000 copies and they will be given out at guitar shows.

Duane is looking for help with content also. For those who can write well there may be opportunities to contribute with compensation in the form of reduced advertising rates. I don't know. We didn't discuss that specifically. That was my idea...but I think calling him and discussing this with him might be interesting. He's a receptive fellow.

I know...there are a lot of fishy deals out there. This one should be scrutinized like any of them. But you never know. His rates are quite low...and they should be, given the situation....but this could be an opportunity for some of us. I'm in the process of considering this.

I got this in an email last week. It looks like a very promising magazine. One that I would be interested in for sure.
Also, thanks for posting. :-)

Thanks Lance.

Duane will be watching this thread in case anyone has any suggestions about his magazine. I may bump it a few times over the next week or so to make sure people get a chance to see it.

One change. I meant to say Duane is an audio/video engineer...and not a producer. I confused the two.
